Electrical Engineer

The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, and validation of electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and vehicle-related electrical components. This role supports electrical design work through prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Design and integrate automotive and heavy vehicle wiring systems, harnesses, and electrical components.

• Develop and maintain wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and electrical documentation.

• Conduct engineering analysis related to electrical systems and vehicle connectivity.

• Support prototype vehicle builds and electrical system testing.

• Troubleshoot electrical issues related to wiring, components, embedded controls, and system interactions.

• Write software requirements and interface with software engineers to develop control strategy.

• Integrate electrical and mechanical components and systems.

• Contribute to process improvements, tool development, and design standards related to electrical engineering.

• Write proposals, reports, and technical summaries.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field and 5 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in automotive electrical systems, embedded controls, wiring design, and integration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with high-voltage vehicle electrical systems.

• Experience with vehicle networking protocols (CAN, Ethernet) and related development tools.

• Experience with electrical system testing, instrumentation, or prototype vehicle development.

• Experience creating wire harness drawings.

• Working knowledge of embedded software programming languages and development practices.

• Hands-on experience with the fabrication, installation, and integration of electrical and electromechanical components.

• Experience performing component- and system-level validation including environmental and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing to industry and military standards.

• Experience using MATLAB/Simulink.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
