Full job description
ATE Test Engineer
Ogden, UT
$35-47/hr
Contract to Hire, 9 month initial term
Your code will keep Air Force aircraft ready to fly. You'll be the on-site engineer supporting the automated test stations used to check aircraft electronics, and the work covers both hardware and software. One day you're tracking down a fault with a scope and a meter, the next you're digging into C# test code to fix it. You'll work right next to the Air Force customer, so you see the impact of your fixes right away. You don't need to know these test stations coming in, since you'll be trained on them. Engineers with 0-5 years of experience are welcome, and the 9/80 schedule gives you a day off every other week.
What you'll do
-
Troubleshoot hardware and software failures on automated test stations with a meter, scope and bench power supplies.
-
Write, modify and debug test programs in C#, C or C++.
-
Validate test stations and test program sets, and help bring station upgrades and design changes through acceptance.
-
Dig into reliability and failure data to find root causes and put fixes in place.
-
Maintain and repair station hardware and software, and keep the customer updated on status and fixes.
What you need
-
Bachelor's in any engineering discipline or a similar technical field.
-
Experience writing test code or debugging software in C#, C or C++.
-
Comfort running a digital multimeter, oscilloscope and bench power supplies on your own.
-
Hands-on troubleshooting of hardware and software failures.
-
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Nice to have
-
Time spent maintaining or repairing automated test stations (product test experience with the same hands-on skills also works).
-
Working knowledge of NI LabVIEW and TestStand.
-
Test program set development, station upgrades or acceptance testing.
-
Work in a DoD facility, cleared lab or other controlled environment.
Where and when
This role is fully on-site in a secure lab on a military installation in the Ogden area. The schedule is 9/80 with an early start. A drug test and history check are required.
