JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to assist in the development of procedures and operational guidance within the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) program.

This is an onsite position three to four days per week covering locations within a 20-30 mile radius within the Bay Area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop documentation related to EHS programs for implementationboth locally and globally.

  • Develop or design content, and delivery methods of hands-on andonline training.

  • Conduct and document comprehensive risk assessments.

  • Develop EHS checklists, guidelines and standard operatingprocedures (SOPs).

  • Conduct basic industrial hygiene testing of lab and work spaces.

  • Develop and/or maintain a data tracking process and record keepingsystem.

  • Administration and maintenance of spreadsheets utilized to housedata from incident and injury reports.

  • Conduct site safety walkthroughs and lab inspections.

  • Interact with regulatory agencies and inspectors.

  • Conduct building closure documentation support for regulatoryrequirements

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.

May coordinate work and assign tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum four years of HSE related experience.

Fundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations preferred. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is beneficial.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

As required by local authority (if required).

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The salary range is $40 - $48 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
