Its overarching goal is to uncover disease mechanisms that can be translated into personalized therapies for patients. The laboratory is also committed to training the next generation of physician-scientists and biomedical researchers. Dr. Knauf has supervised more than 30 research trainees and serves as Co-Director of the M.D.-Ph.D. Program “Re-Thinking Health.” Dr. Knauf previously held faculty positions at Yale University and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
