Full job description
Hydrosat is a fast-growing space technology company leveraging satellite thermal imagery and advanced analytics to address water scarcity, food security, and climate resilience. With operations across Europe and the United States, Hydrosat combines Earth Observation (EO) technology, proprietary satellite capabilities, and AI-powered analytics to deliver actionable intelligence to commercial and government customers worldwide.
As we expand our European footprint, we are establishing operations in Greece to strengthen our participation in European space programmes, develop strategic partnerships, and accelerate growth in the region.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Country Director to establish and develop Hydrosat’s presence in Greece. This senior position combines hands-on business development, institutional engagement and strategic bidding activities with coordination of local business administration in close collaboration with Hydrosat’s leadership.
The successful candidate will build Hydrosat’s presence in Greece, develop strategic partnerships, and secure opportunities within the European space ecosystem, particularly through ESA, national space programmes, and other institutional funding mechanisms. Country Leadership & Business Development
-
Establish and develop Hydrosat’s presence in Greece, driving local strategy, business development and institutional engagement in alignment with Hydrosat’s global objectives.
-
Drive commercial growth by identifying opportunities across the Greek and European space ecosystems, particularly in Earth Observation and satellite applications.
-
Build strategic relationships with government agencies, institutional customers, research organizations, and industry partners.
-
Coordinate local business administration, including legal, compliance, regulatory and operational matters, in close collaboration with Hydrosat’s central leadership and relevant corporate functions.
Institutional Bidding & Strategic Partnerships
-
Personally lead and drive complex institutional bidding processes, particularly for ESA, EU-funded, and national space programmes.
-
Manage the full opportunity lifecycle, including qualification, bid/no-bid decisions, consortium formation, proposal development, negotiations, and contract awards.
-
Represent Hydrosat in institutional forums and strategic negotiations, strengthening the company’s positioning within the European space ecosystem.
-
Collaborate with internal technical, commercial, legal, and finance teams to ensure successful programme execution and compliance with applicable contractual, regulatory, and export-control requirements.
Requirements
-
Significant senior-level experience in business development, institutional partnerships or country-level representation, preferably within the space or similarly regulated technology sectors.
-
Proven hands-on experience leading complex institutional or government bids, including tender preparation, strategic partnerships, negotiations, and contract awards.
-
Strong commercial background in Earth Observation (preferred), commercial space, satellite technologies, or closely related high-tech sectors.
-
Demonstrated experience developing new markets, building business operations, and managing strategic institutional relationships.
-
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, business opportunities and institutional partnerships.
-
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to combine strategic leadership and hands-on execution in an international, high-growth environment.
-
EU citizenship, fluency in English, and willingness to be based in Greece. Greek language proficiency is highly desirable.
Nice to Have
-
Direct experience with ESA programmes, including institutional procurement, consortium development, and competitive bidding.
-
Established network within the Greek and European space ecosystems, including ESA, the Hellenic Space Center, and relevant government institutions.
-
Experience in a scaling technology company (Series B or later) or established commercial space organization.
-
Familiarity with European space regulations, export controls, defence, dual-use technologies, or government-funded R&D programmes.
