Full job description
Team Leadership:Supervise accounting and grants administrative staff and student workers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure efficient operations.Providing ongoing coaching and training opportunities to support staff growth.Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages problem-solving and continuous improvement.Financial Management Oversight:Advise accounting team regarding financial questions regarding allowability and/or source of funds. Review and approve transactions, including corrections by administrative teams in their areas of responsibilities. Approve transaction processes and corrections submitted by administrative teams.Assists with review of monthly and fiscal-year transactions.Monitor stopgap accounts, process costing corrections, and initiate funding transfers.Serve as a backup document creator and processor for office-related actions.Ensure financial transactions comply with university policies and applicable regulations.Budget and Compliance Oversight:Serve as the financial point of contact for office budgets and accounts.Oversee compliance activities, including balance reviews, budget preparation, and scholarship processing.Assist the Director with instructional budget planning.Process Improvement:Lead initiatives to document and enhance financial workflows within the department.Develop and implement training plans for new processes and policy changes.
