Senior Backend Developer

The Senior Backend Developer provides subject matter proficiency for our USAF mission. This role is responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements. Shall perform engineering tasks for back-end design and development efforts including, but not limited to, developing back-end architectures to support current and new system capabilities and integrations, RESTful API development and modification, database management, and data model development and optimization.

This position is contingent upon contract award and position availability. Selected candidates will receive a contingent offer of employment, which will become final only upon successful contract award to Maximus, availability of the position, and receipt of authorization to proceed.

This is an on-site position in San Antonio, TX and requires a TS/SCI clearance.

Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:

• 10 years of overall experience in the functional area.

• Bachelor's degree required (Master's may substitute for 2 years).

• 10 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with DevSecOps, microservices, and containers tool suites.

• 5 years of recent and relevant experience performing back-end web design and development.

• Demonstrated experience in relational databases, RESTful API development and integration.

• 5 years' experience in Python and PostgreSQL.

• 5 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and testing web-based applications.

• 5 years of experience leading software development programs or projects.

• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment.

• 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.

• 10 years of relational database experience; at least 5 years PostgreSQL applied experience.

• 5 years of experience with at least five (5) of the following: BASH, Spring, Ansible, JUnit5, Nexus Repository, Maven.

• DCWF Job Code: 632 Advanced.

• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly required.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• CSSLP, CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect Professional or other relevant certifications.

• Experience integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments.

• 5 years of DoD software development experience.

• Agile Test-Driven development; DoD DevSecOps integration; 5 years CI/CD.
