Full job description

Join Cleveland Clinic's Hillcrest Hospital where research and surgery are advanced, technology is leading-edge, patient care is world-class, and caregivers are family. Hillcrest Hospital is recognized as one of the top hospitals in Ohio. Here, you will work with and learn from some of our best caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.

Hillcrest Hospital's 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) offers hemodynamic monitoring, continuous respiratory care, pharmacologic interventions, and step-down open-heart, thoracic and cardiovascular services to diverse populations of young adult, adult and geriatric patients. This is a critical care unit with higher acuity patients who are not suitable for Med Surg but are not as critical as ICU patients. By joining the team as an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), you will manage the daily clinical operations of the PCU at Hillcrest Hospital. With an emphasis on professional development and success, you will encourage caregivers to enhance their skills and the patient experience through improvement initiatives and incentives. 70% of your day will consist of in-staff responsibilities and interactions. You may also float to the ICU, as needed. This role will allow you to help improve patient care by bridging the gap between intensive care and general medical-surgical units.

This opportunity will allow you to gain great leadership skills and have exposure to being in a management position. It will act as a steppingstone and help you move into a future Nurse Manager role. You will also have the option to gain additional certifications such as PCCRN or CCRN. • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.

  • Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate coverage.

  • Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.
