Full job description

Why join us

  • You define how we sell. You are our first full-time sales hire. You own enterprise accounts and companies with their own voice teams, from first meeting to collected cash, and you decide which accounts we go after. There is no sales playbook yet, and we want you to write it.
  • You build the sales team. As the book grows, you hire the next sellers, and the role grows with it.
  • OTE of USD 290,000 to 350,000 with uncapped commission, plus 1.25 to 1.75 percent equity.
  • You hold a founding title. You report to the CEO and present the pipeline at our board meetings.

Why this role exists now Enterprise demand already comes to us, and we have no seller yet. Recently that meant a contact-center platform, a white-label reseller, and a BPO consultant. Our CEO works those deals today, between product work. You turn deals like these into signed pilots and a repeatable sales motion. About Speko Speko helps developers build voice apps that talk and can make and receive phone calls. We are OpenRouter for Voice AI: managed voice agents and phone numbers, plus a router across speech and language models that we test on public benchmarks. You walk into every deal with proof a buyer can check. Our benchmarks at benchmarks.speko.ai compare STT, TTS, LLM, and speech-to-speech models, including true cost per solved call, and we re-benchmark as new models ship. Developers find us on their own: Speko trended in the Claude connector directory in September 2026 and is listed in the Cursor marketplace and the ChatGPT app directory. Y Combinator (S26) and Heavybit back us. How we work together You run enterprise. Our CEO runs product and developer self-serve. Before Speko, the CEO worked at Amazon, then spent four years shipping production voice AI for global banks and insurers. We set pricing and pilot terms together. What you will own

  • How we run discovery, security reviews, procurement, and contracts.
  • Pilot specs with written acceptance tests, run to a pass with our engineers.
  • A ranked list of what blocks each account, which shapes what engineering builds next.

Who you are

  • You have run structured technical pilots for enterprise buyers at an early-stage company, priced and scoped before kickoff, with a written pass or fail.
  • You have 8+ years of enterprise selling, mostly to US buyers.
  • You are technical enough to read a call trace with our engineers and say where the latency went.
  • You enjoy enterprise meetings and want to own them.
  • You are authorized to work in the US. We do not sponsor visas for this role.

Voice AI, telephony, or speech infrastructure selling is strongly preferred. Our engineers will get you fluent in the stack. Pilot discipline is the part we cannot teach. Strong on pilots but missing another line? Get in touch anyway. Your first 90 days

  • Weeks 1 and 2: join live customer calls and learn the stack with our engineers.
  • Month 1: you own the pipeline, including the enterprise inbound.
  • Month 3: signed pilots with written acceptance tests, and the opening pages of your playbook.

What we give you: an engineer on every pilot and our benchmark data for every deal. The offer

  • Base USD 170,000 to 190,000.
  • Variable USD 120,000 to 160,000 at target, paid monthly on collected dollars against a quota in your offer letter. Uncapped, with a higher rate above quota and guaranteed variable pay while your book ramps.
  • Equity 1.25 to 1.75 percent, fully diluted after our SAFEs convert. 4-year vest, 1-year cliff. If you leave, you can exercise until the option's 10-year term ends. Standard paperwork gives 90 days.
  • Health coverage or a stipend.

Where we work San Francisco, onsite. You meet customers in person. Our engineers work from Central Asia and Jakarta, and we overlap every morning, Pacific time.
