What started in a home kitchen has grown into a collection of bakeries and cafés inspired by Eastern Mediterranean and Levant traditions, where handcrafted food, exceptional coffee, warm hospitality, and beautiful spaces create moments of connection every day.
Our mission is simple: To Inspire, Care For, and Nurture Life. Every Day.
THE ROLE
The Loss Prevention & Risk Manager helps protect Tatte’s cafés, team members, guests, and assets by building practical programs that reduce operational risk and prevent loss. This role combines field partnership, investigations, safety systems oversight, claims support, and data analysis in a growing, multi-unit environment.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful problem-solver who can identify patterns, investigate incidents, improve controls, and turn findings into sustainable operational solutions. This person will collaborate closely with Café Operations, Finance, Accounts Payable, Facilities, the People Team, Legal, and external insurance partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead operational loss prevention, safety, and risk-mitigation initiatives across all cafés.

Investigate theft, fraud, cash discrepancies, safety incidents, and other unusual activity; document findings and recommend corrective action.
-
Coordinate evidence collection for insurance claims, including video footage, photographs, incident reports, witness statements, transaction records, and other supporting materials.
-
Monitor the health and effectiveness of safety and security systems, including cameras, alarms, temperature sensors, access controls, and vehicle GPS software.
-
Partner with Accounts Payable, Finance, and café leaders to research and resolve cash, deposit, safe-drop, and payment discrepancies.
-
Analyze incident, claim, loss, and audit data to identify recurring risks and opportunities for prevention.
-
Conduct café risk assessments and compliance audits, then partner with Operations to close identified gaps.
-
Support general liability, property, automobile, and workers’ compensation claim administration.
-
Improve incident-reporting, investigation, escalation, and documentation processes.
-
Develop practical guidance, training, and tools that help café teams prevent losses and respond consistently to incidents.
-
Coordinate with vendors and internal partners to resolve safety-system outages and recurring equipment issues.
-
Maintain confidential, organized, and audit-ready records.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
-
Four or more years of progressive experience in loss prevention, asset protection, safety, claims, investigations, or operational risk, preferably in a multi-unit restaurant, retail, hospitality, or similar environment.
-
Strong investigative judgment and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
-
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify patterns, determine root causes, and implement practical solutions.
-
Strong written documentation, project management, and cross-functional communication skills.
-
Comfort working with security, monitoring, incident-management, point-of-sale, and reporting technologies.
-
Ability to balance urgent incident response with longer-term program development.
