Job Description

Position Overview

As an Associate, Services Business Development, you will play a key role in supporting the growth of Invenergy's Services business by managing transactional commercial opportunities, developing customer proposals, and identifying new business opportunities across our renewable energy services portfolio.

This role will focus on Field Services Operations (FSO), Centers of Excellence (COE), and Repower offerings, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop competitive, customer-specific solutions for wind, solar, storage, and other power generation assets.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, commercially minded professional who can independently coordinate multiple opportunities, build strong internal and external relationships, and contribute to improving business development processes. This position offers significant exposure to different areas of Invenergy's Services business and opportunities to contribute directly to its commercial growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities for Field Services Operations (FSO), Centers of Excellence (COE), and Repower services.

  • Conduct market research, customer and asset portfolio analysis, and competitive intelligence to identify potential customers and service opportunities.

  • Support customer outreach initiatives, account development strategies, and relationship management activities to expand Invenergy Services' third-party business.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to expand service offerings within existing customer relationships.

  • Independently manage and coordinate transactional proposals, RFP responses, and commercial quotations from initial customer inquiry through final submission.

  • Develop customer-specific proposals, pricing strategies, and commercial offerings in coordination with Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Procurement, and other internal teams.

  • Manage multiple concurrent opportunities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, accurate, and commercially competitive proposals.

  • Proactively identify and resolve potential roadblocks, coordinate internal deliverables, and escalate commercial or operational risks as appropriate.

  • Support commercial negotiations, contract reviews, and coordination with Legal and leadership to facilitate timely contract execution.

  • Maintain clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the proposal and contracting process.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal technical and operational teams to develop customer-specific service solutions.

  • Serve as a commercial point of contact for assigned transactional opportunities, coordinating customer requests, technical clarifications, and proposal follow-ups.

  • Prepare and present commercial materials, proposals, and business development updates for internal and external meetings.

  • Develop, maintain, and improve standardized proposal templates, pricing tools, and commercial processes to increase efficiency and consistency across FSO, COE, and Repower offerings.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity information, proposal records, commercial activities, and pricing documentation within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in renewable energy, power generation, business development, commercial operations, or a related field.

  • Experience managing commercial proposals, RFP responses, customer quotations, or complex cross-functional projects.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, drive deliverables, and resolve challenges in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial judgment skills.

  • Ability to build effective business relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in wind energy operations and maintenance (O&M), field services, major component exchanges, blade services, or wind repowering.

  • Experience working with Asset Management, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, or other technical teams in the energy industry.

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms and commercial pipeline management.
