Full-Stack Software Engineer

At KBR, we deliver science, technology and engineering solutions to governments and companies around the world. KBR employs approximately 37,000 people worldwide with customers in more than 85 countries and operations in over 28 countries. KBR is proud to work with its customers across the globe to provide technology, value-added services, and long-term operations and maintenance services to ensure consistent delivery with predictable results.

Trinzic is the future independent company to be created through the planned spin-off of KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business, expected in January 2027. Our people work at the frontier of what is possible, delivering solutions in challenging environments and advancing some of the world's highest-priority national security and space missions.

Backed by decades of mission success, deep expertise, and trusted partnerships, Trinzic will launch as a global organization with more than 18,000 employees supporting customers around the world. Join us at a defining moment and help shape the future of a company built to tackle complex challenges and make a meaningful impact.

Candidates who join KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business before the spin-off will transition to Trinzic when the separation is complete and will not need to reapply for employment.

Join the Iron Stallion team to build secure, data-intensive software that helps space operators turn information from multiple sources into timely operational insight. This engineer will contribute across modern web applications, backend services, analytical workflows, and AI-enabled capabilities while working with experienced technical and mission teammates.

The role uses approved AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and modernization. Engineers remain accountable for the quality, security, and correctness of all delivered software.

What You Will Do

  • Build and sustain responsive, user-facing mission applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and modern UI frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular, integrated with Java/Spring Boot, C#/.NET, or comparable backend technologies.

  • Translate operator workflows into clear, accessible, and maintainable web experiences, including responsive layouts, state management, data visualization, and browser compatibility.

  • Develop and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven workflows that ingest, normalize, correlate, analyze, and visualize data from multiple sources.

  • Use approved AI-assisted development tools for code generation, testing, refactoring, documentation, troubleshooting, and code review.

  • Validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance and maintainability before integration.

  • Develop human-in-the-loop AI features for anomaly detection, recommendations, data correlation, predictive insight, and workflow optimization.

  • Build reusable UI components and shared web libraries, and create automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools such as Vitest, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent.

  • Collaborate with operators, analysts, systems engineers, cybersecurity teams, data scientists, and product owners to turn mission needs into incremental releases.

  • Collaborate with platform and cybersecurity teams on DevSecOps pipelines, containerized deployments, observability, security scanning, and software supply-chain controls.

  • Participate in design discussions, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing to improve secure software development, testing, and responsible AI-assisted engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 4 or more years of relevant experience. Equivalent directly related experience may be considered.

  • Proficiency in at least one backend ecosystem, such as Java with Spring Boot or C# with .NET, plus practical experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and a modern UI framework such as Vue, React, or Angular.

  • Experience developing responsive web applications that consume RESTful APIs, along with distributed applications, microservices, asynchronous processing, or event-driven applications.

  • Experience with data-intensive applications, relational or document databases, and messaging or streaming technologies such as Kafka or equivalent.

  • Experience with source control, automated testing, browser-based debugging, and modern frontend build tools such as Vite or Webpack.

  • Practical experience using an enterprise-approved AI coding assistant and reviewing its output for inaccurate, insecure, or fabricated code.

  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills across software, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and mission teams.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance or higher and experience with DoD, Intelligence Community, government, or other mission-critical software.

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, observability, dependency scanning, release automation, and software supply-chain controls.

  • Experience with Space Domain Awareness, satellite operations, orbital analysis, sensor systems, geospatial visualization, command and control, or mission planning.

  • Experience integrating AI or machine-learning models into operational applications, including human-in-the-loop decision support.

  • Experience with RAG, semantic retrieval, agentic workflows, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or equivalent enterprise AI platforms.

  • Experience deploying software in restricted, disconnected, on-premises, or classified environments and familiarity with RMF, ATO, zero-trust, SBOM, or responsible-AI practices.

  • Experience contributing to technical design, peer reviews, or knowledge sharing on a multidisciplinary engineering team.
