Full job description
In this position ...
Leads management of prioritized cases (warranty, IQS, etc.) per the Single Agenda for Quality (SAQ) in partnership with Vehicle Function Groups (VFGs) and Functional Quality Managers, driving delivery of the throughput standard established for the performance cycle. Collaborates with functions to achieve prioritization targets for Time to Detect, Time to Contain, and Time to Resolve, identifying enablers to mitigate or driving escalation into appropriate forums when target breaches are imminent or have occurred.
Sources of problem-solving signals will come from multiple sources – warranty, 14D investigations, JD Power IQS, etc. Regardless of signal source, the issue is assigned an SAQ priority and sent through the problem-solving process accordingly. As such, regardless of signal type, the E2E Warranty Analyst will drive a consistent approach and appropriate urgency in driving problem-solving.
What you'll do ...
Lead Problem Solving Throughput and Aging Delivery
-
Own delivery of overall throughput status and 'phase of problem solving' aging for Functional Units (VHE, EE&S, VE, Paint), working closely with the VFGs, Central Triage Team (CTT), and functional problem solvers to gather, analyze, and synthesize signals from IRIS and drive delivery through SIMPSN. Throughput objective is subject to current performance measurement window.
-
Ensure proper focus on prioritized work per rubric for performance measurement window. Monitor when cases are breaching or imminently breaching aging targets. Facilitate enablers to mitigate and/or escalate within function. Goal is to minimize or avoid breach.
-
Own the understanding of SAQ issues flagging as prioritized and enforce process standards (fully active problem-solving team, robust problem statement, progression of problem-solving steps, etc.). Collaborate with CTT and problem-solving teams to mitigate target breaches.
-
Accountable to ensure SAQ is properly scoped and that priorities are sufficiently addressing business needs. KPI is percentage of prioritized claims covered by SIMPSN tickets.
-
Accountable to ensure forward model-responsible cases are efficiently cascaded through the Long Lead PCA and Prevent Recurrence Action (PRA) processes.
Support Program Delivery & Risk Management
-
Ensure that current model quality learnings and functional quality status are accurately reflected in the Program Quality Status inputs.
-
Partner with Program Quality (PQ) Engineers to ensure seamless integration of VHE/VE/EE&S/Paint functional quality insights into overall program-level quality planning and strategic discussions.
-
Sync alignment of current model vehicle line priorities with holistic priorities for the functional teams. This ensures prioritized issues for lower volume vehicle lines and smaller regions are not overlooked by the problem-solving teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
-
Act as a key interface between PQ, engineering, manufacturing, service, and supplier quality teams to ensure seamless information flow and alignment on functional quality issues.
-
Consult with manufacturing and service quality teams to gather critical insights and ensure their perspectives are integrated into functional quality assessments.
Drive Current Model Quality Learnings into Future Programs
-
Engage directly with engineering teams responsible for current production quality problems to deeply understand root causes, failure mechanisms, and real-world manufacturing/supplier constraints, driving SAQ delivery in parallel.
-
Translate complex technical problem resolutions from current production into actionable 'lessons learned' for future vehicle designs and processes.
-
Actively participate in the 'functional waterfall work,' ensuring detailed analysis of current quality gaps
Enhance Proactive Quality Planning & Data Analysis
-
Provide real-world insights to the Forward Model Quality (FMQ) team to inform and strengthen Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) plans, Root Cause (RC) plans, and CTQ (Critical-to-Quality) assessments.
-
Contribute to the refinement of Quality Framework Enablers by providing feedback on their effectiveness in current production.
-
Lead the identification and cascading of high-performing parts and systems from current models for reuse in future programs; roll up insights to total VHE, VE, and EE&S levels, driving strategic approach into the plans.
-
Utilize diverse data sources, including warranty data, customer satisfaction metrics, field service reports, and physical assessment data (e.g., auction data) to identify quality trends, risk areas, and benchmarking opportunities.
You'll have ...
-
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or academic equivalent, in a closely related technical discipline or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
-
Working knowledge of Ford's quality tools and process (or equivalent) – on the job experience with interpreting quality data sources, interpreting and applying data analytics
-
Working knowledge of Problem-Solving Methodology (e.g., Global 8D, PDCA)
-
Green Belt certification required,
-
Demonstration of strong collaboration capabilities, with abilities to pull together teams to work towards a common outcome in spite differing perspectives of the problem at hand.
Even better, you may have...
-
Master's Degree preferred
-
Black Belt certified preferred
