Full job description

About Us: Fireworks is the platform for specialized intelligence, enabling companies to build, train, and serve AI models tailored to their own data, workflows, and products. Founded by the team behind PyTorch and backed by AMD, Atreides, Benchmark Capital, Index Ventures, Lightspeed, NVIDIA, Sequoia Capital, and TCV, Fireworks powers production AI with hundreds of state-of-the-art open models across text, image, embedding, audio, and multimodal workloads. Today, Fireworks is a Series D company valued at $17.5 billion, bringing together an ambitious, collaborative team that's building the future of enterprise AI. ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for an Immigration Specialist to join our People team on a contract basis. As Fireworks grows quickly and hires globally, immigration is a critical part of how we bring great people in and keep them. You’ll own the day-to-day management of our immigration cases, from visas for new hires to permanent residency for existing employees, and be a trusted, knowledgeable point of contact for the employees going through the process. This is a fast-paced role for someone who enjoys keeping a high volume of cases moving at once, stays current on a changing immigration landscape, and knows when a situation needs to go to someone else. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage our full portfolio of immigration cases, including permanent resident applications and a range of visa cases (such as H-1B, O-1, L-1, and TN) for new hires and existing employees, partnering with outside counsel on filings and keeping each case on track in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assist in initiating work visa applications at a global level, with the majority of cases in the U.S. and additional cases in our global locations such as Singapore and UK.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for new hires and employees with immigration questions, guiding them through our policies and processes and advising on straightforward cases.

  • Use sound judgment to recognize exceptional or complex situations, and escalate them to the People Partner and business leaders with clear context and recommended options.

  • Work with People Operations to keep our immigration policies and employee-facing resources accurate, clear, and up to date.

  • Stay current on U.S. immigration law and policy changes, and flag developments that affect our employees or hiring plans.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2+ years of experience managing employment-based immigration cases, whether in-house or at a law firm or immigration services provider

  • Hands-on experience with common employment-based visa categories (H-1B, O-1, L-1, TN) and permanent residency processes (PERM, I-140, I-485)

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. immigration law and a habit of staying on top of policy changes

  • Excellent organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage a high volume of cases and deadlines at once

  • Clear, empathetic communication. You can explain a complicated process simply to someone who is anxious about their status

  • Good judgment on when to advise directly and when to escalate

  • Experience partnering with outside immigration counsel and cross-functional teams to move cases through the process

  • Experience supporting immigration matters outside the U.S., particularly Singapore and the UK will be a plus.

Why Fireworks?

  • Solve Hard Problems: Tackle challenges at the forefront of AI infrastructure, from low-latency inference to scalable model serving.

  • Build What’s Next: Work with bleeding-edge technology that impacts how businesses and developers harness AI globally.

  • Ownership & Impact: Join a fast-growing, passionate team where your work directly shapes the future of AI—no bureaucracy, just results.

  • Learn from the Best: Collaborate with world-class engineers and AI researchers who thrive on curiosity and innovation.

Fireworks AI is an equal-opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all innovators.
