Full job description
We're hiring Sales Development Representatives to help grow our outbound sales engine. This is an opportunity to accelerate a career in tech sales at a fast-growing AI company in the e-commerce space, with hands-on coaching and a clear path to grow.
As an SDR at Intelligems, you'll own cold outbound prospecting while also helping qualify inbound leads. You'll be the first point of contact for many future customers: Shopify merchants looking to optimize their business through onsite experimentation and personalization. If you outwork the people around you, love getting coached, and want to get better every single day, this role is for you.
As a customer-first, product-oriented company, all success will be driven by the caliber of people on the team. Our values and more about us can be found here: https://intelligems.io/aboutus.
What You'll Do
- Research and identify high-potential prospects, understanding their business challenges and how Intelligems can help
- Build and execute outbound campaigns targeting e-commerce brands and Shopify merchants through cold email, cold calling, social outreach, in person events and more.
- Book qualified meetings for our Account Executives and ensure smooth handoffs
- Leverage AI across your entire workflow, from researching accounts and personalizing outreach to prepping for calls and analyzing what's working, so you can do more, faster, and spend your time on real conversations with prospects
- Iterate and improve our outbound playbook by testing messaging, sequences, and targeting approaches
- Maintain meticulous CRM hygiene in HubSpot, tracking all activities and pipeline progress
- Work the room at in-person events alongside our Marketing and Growth teams, from industry conferences to our own hosted dinners and meetups, then follow up fast to turn attendees into booked meetings and pipeline
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product to share prospect insights and refine our go-to-market approach
Who You Are Above all, we're looking for four things:
- Work ethic. You have a track record of outworking expectations, whether that's holding down multiple jobs, training for a sport, putting yourself through school, or grinding at something until you got good at it.
- Coachability. You seek out feedback, don't get defensive, and actually change what you do after you get it. You embrace what we call an "aggressive learning style": you enjoy learning, you're not afraid to fail, and you find energy in getting better every day.
- Motivation. You have a clear reason for wanting to build a career in tech sales, and you push yourself whether or not anyone is watching.
- Clear communication. Whether you're writing a cold email, picking up the phone, or explaining an idea to a teammate, you're clear and easy to follow, in writing and out loud. You're genuinely curious about people: you lead with questions, listen more than you talk, and seek to understand before drawing conclusions. You know the most persuasive thing you can do is make someone feel understood, so you reflect back what you're hearing, get to the heart of what matters to them, and earn trust before you ask for anything.
You also bring genuine care for the people around you, both customers and teammates. You take ownership of your results and believe the best outcomes come from lifting others up, sharing what you learn, and winning as a team.
You'll thrive here if:
- You're coachable and hungry for feedback; you actively seek input from teammates and use it to improve
- You're not intimidated by rejection and can keep your energy up after hearing "no"
- You genuinely care about helping others succeed, whether that's a prospect trying to grow their business or a colleague who needs support
- You default to collaboration—sharing insights, celebrating team wins, and asking for help when you need it
- You put the team first, understanding that our collective success matters more than individual achievements
- You bring curiosity and empathy to every conversation, whether with prospects or teammates
Requirements
- No prior SDR, sales experience, or college degree required.
- A demonstrated track record of hard work and hustle in any professional setting including and not limited to part-time jobs, service industry, retail, internships, etc.
- A clear desire to build a career in tech sales
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- A genuine interest in tech, AI, e-commerce, and helping businesses grow
- Able to work from our New York City office in the Financial District 2-3 days a week
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot) is a bonus, not a requirement
What's In It For You
- Hands-on coaching and a clear path to grow into an Account Executive role for high performers
- Direct mentorship from experienced sales leadership
- A front-row seat to how the best ecommerce brands grow. You'll be talking with founders and operators at brands you already know and buy from
- Skills that compound: you'll learn modern outbound and AI-powered sales tools from day one, the toolkit every top seller is going to need in a high earning career
Location This role is hybrid in New York City. You'll be required to work from our office in Lower Manhattan 2-3 days a week. We believe early-career sellers learn fastest when they're in the room with their team.
