The Role
We are seeking a Senior Journey Marketing Manager to lead the end-to-end development, activation, and optimization of integrated customer journeys and campaigns that increase security attachment to Lumen core network services. This role will connect customer needs, buying signals, portfolio strategy, campaign execution, seller actions, and performance insights into cohesive growth motions that move customers from awareness through consideration, purchase, adoption, and expansion.
This is a senior individual contributor role that works across Marketing, Sales, Product Marketing, Product, Partner Marketing, and Sales Enablement. The successful candidate will establish journey strategies, orchestrate cross-functional execution, resolve dependencies, and use closed-loop performance data to improve marketing funnel, pipeline, conversion, and security attach outcomes across Lumen’s cybersecurity portfolio.
The Main Responsibilities
-
Define and refine target audiences, customer needs, journey stages, decision criteria, barriers to purchase, buying triggers, and conversion objectives for products and solutions across the security portfolio.
-
Translate business priorities and customer insights into integrated campaign briefs that establish the growth opportunity, journey hypothesis, target audience, offer, value proposition, content requirements, channel plan, seller role, measurement framework, and optimization approach.
-
Lead cross-functional planning and orchestration from strategy through launch and optimization, aligning Product Marketing, Demand Generation, ABM, Digital, Content, Creative, Marketing Operations, Partner Marketing, Sales, and Enablement around a common journey and execution plan.
-
Own the end-to-end journey strategy for priority attach motions, connecting core underlying services to relevant cybersecurity cross-sell solutions based on customer needs, architecture, lifecycle stage, risk profile, and buying signals.
-
Develop repeatable attach plays that help Lumen identify network customers with relevant security needs and guide them toward the appropriate solution, conversation, offer, or seller action.
-
Map content and customer experiences to each journey stage, identify gaps, and guide the development or adaptation of thought leadership, assessments, webpages, solution briefs, nurture content, customer stories, webinars, sales plays, and executive materials.
-
Collaborate with Data, Analytics, Marketing Operations, and Digital teams to define audience logic, account-selection criteria, behavioral and intent signals, progression rules, routing, personalization, orchestration, and reporting requirements.
-
Partner with Sales and Sales Enablement to drive awareness, adoption, and consistent execution of security plays across relevant sales teams and customer solution areas.
-
Analyze performance across reach, engagement, account progression, marketing-qualified activity, sales acceptance, pipeline creation, conversion, attach rate, revenue, and customer expansion.
-
Create closed-loop feedback mechanisms that incorporate campaign data, seller input, customer behavior, opportunity movement, and deal outcomes into future journey and campaign decisions.
-
Maintain a prioritized roadmap of journey enhancements, campaigns, content needs, data requirements, and operational dependencies tied to documented growth opportunities and performance gaps.
-
Present journey strategy, performance, insights, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders through concise updates, business reviews, and action plans.
What We Look For in a Candidate
-
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, analytics, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered. A master’s degree is preferred.
-
5+ years of experience in customer journey marketing, integrated campaign strategy, lifecycle marketing, demand generation, account-based marketing, solution marketing, or a related B2B enterprise technology role.
-
Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional campaigns or customer journeys from audience strategy and planning through activation, measurement, and optimization.
-
Strong understanding of B2B buying journeys, including buying groups, account and lead progression, behavioral signals, personalization, nurture, and seller-assisted conversion.
-
Strong analytical skills and experience using funnel, campaign, account, opportunity, pipeline, conversion, revenue, and attach data to identify issues, generate insights, and recommend action.
-
Understanding of marketing operations and journey orchestration requirements, including segmentation, audience governance, routing, automation, measurement, attribution, data quality, and platform dependencies.
-
Superior written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex strategies and gain alignment from executive, marketing, sales, technical, and operational stakeholders.
-
Strong program management skills, including establishing workplans, clarifying ownership, managing dependencies, resolving blockers, and delivering across multiple teams without direct authority.
-
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively, make data-informed recommendations, and drive decisions in a matrixed organization.
-
Customer-centric, commercially oriented, collaborative, and comfortable operating with high autonomy in a fast-changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience marketing enterprise networking or cybersecurity solutions such as SASE, DDoS protection, managed security services, threat intelligence, or network security.
-
Hands-on experience working with marketing automation, CRM, ABM, intent, analytics, personalization, content management, or journey orchestration platforms.
