Full job description
Provide supervision in the classroom in the absence of the teacher. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers when needed.Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom. Provide approved behavior management and intervention, including restraints, as required.Assist the teacher in collecting and maintaining student data, administrative records and preparing required reports. Assist with assessment as assigned.Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required.Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher. Tutor students as assigned. Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
