SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse provides safe, effective, high-quality patient-centered care under the direction of the department manager, supervisor, and charge nurse. The RN demonstrates proficiency in all phases of the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in an emergency care environment. Required: State of Nevada RN licensure or Interim Permit American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 6 months of hire Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) within 6 months of hire Unit-Specific Requirement (Emergency Department): AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Adhere to Carson Tahoe Health policies, procedures, and unit standards Attend minimum required staff meetings, education, and annual employee health requirements Maintain active license, certifications, and competency levels Self-identify areas requiring guidance or additional learning; seek support proactively Identify changes in patient condition and communicate effectively with care team Perform bedside handover according to organizational standards Accept accountability for patient care and supervise non-professional personnel Identify and address patient teaching needs Develop, review, modify, and implement comprehensive care plans Respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations Perform other duties as assigned WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Fast-paced Emergency Department environment Requires rapid response, critical thinking, and hands-on clinical work Involves standing, walking, patient interaction, and emergency interventions BENEFITS: Carson Tahoe Health offers a comprehensive benefits package (details available via their benefits resources).
