Full job description
Mirage is an AI video company focused on making creation dramatically easier. Our team tackles some of the hardest creative and technical challenges in generative media.
We get to rethink how people collaborate with AI that can actually do creative work with them—defining entirely new interaction paradigms for AI-native video tools. We make that possible by building multimodal agents that turn creative direction into edits, rendering engines that composite multiple layers of video and graphics, and generative video models trained from the ground up that create new media when needed.
All of this comes together in Captions, our creative workspace for generating, editing, and designing video. The technology behind Captions is now available more broadly: Tesseract gives any AI agent native video-editing capabilities, while developers can integrate our models into their own products through APIs.

About the Role We’re looking for an SEO/AEO Marketing Lead to grow organic acquisition for Captions across search engines and AI assistants. You’ll help creators discover our AI video tools, understand their value, and become active users and paying subscribers. You’ll own strategy and execution across search engine optimization (SEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO): identifying high-intent opportunities, shipping useful content and landing pages, improving technical discoverability, and building authority through relevant third-party coverage. This is a hands-on role partnering with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Creative, and Growth. Success means turning search and AI visibility into qualified traffic, activation, and paid subscriptions, with clear evidence of what drives results.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own the SEO/AEO roadmap, prioritizing non-brand keywords, topics, and purchase-intent prompts based on product relevance, demand, competitive gaps, and conversion potential.
-
Build and improve product, use-case, comparison, and educational pages that answer real customer questions and connect discovery to a clear product experience.
-
Partner with Engineering to improve crawlability, indexing, site architecture, page performance, and access for search and AI crawlers; verify changes through search tools and server logs.
-
Analyze AI answers, citations, and competitor coverage to identify content gaps and earn relevant mentions through reviews, publications, and creator content.
-
Run structured content and landing-page experiments to improve sign-up, activation, and paid conversion; align page messaging with product launches and user intent.
-
Own measurement from search impressions and AI mentions/citations through referral traffic and subscriptions. Segment brand versus non-brand demand, document attribution limits, and distinguish observed changes from incremental impact.
-
Use AI and automation to accelerate research, content workflows, and analysis while maintaining editorial quality, factual accuracy, and a consistent brand voice.
Preferred Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in SEO or organic growth, with ownership of strategy and execution for a software, consumer app, or subscription business. 1+ year of hands-on experience in AEO/GEO.
-
A demonstrated track record of growing qualified non-brand acquisition and sign-ups or paid customers, with specific examples of your contribution and measurable business results.
-
Hands-on AEO experience running experiments across AI assistants or AI search, including prompt selection, answer and citation analysis, content changes, and assessment of outcomes.
-
Strong technical SEO skills, including crawling, indexing, internal linking, structured data, and JavaScript rendering, with experience shipping fixes alongside Engineering.
-
Strong content strategy and editorial judgment: you can translate product capabilities and customer intent into useful landing pages, comparisons, and content briefs.
-
Strong analytical and experimentation skills using Google Search Console, GA4, SEO/AEO tools, and product analytics; able to connect acquisition to downstream conversion and work with SQL or data partners.
-
Ability to independently prioritize and ship in a fast-moving environment, collaborate across functions, and communicate tradeoffs and results clearly.
Bonus Points
-
Experience with creator tools, AI products, video creation, or product-led and self-serve subscription funnels.
-
Experience building earned authority through digital PR, editorial relationships, reviews, and creator partnerships.
-
Experience with international SEO, programmatic SEO with strong quality controls, or App Store Optimization (ASO).
Benefits:
-
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans
-
401K with employer match
-
Commuter Benefits
-
Catered lunch multiple days per week
-
Dinner stipend every night if you're working late and want a bite!
-
Grubhub subscription
-
Health & Wellness Perks
-
Multiple team offsites per year with team events every month
-
Generous PTO policy
