Full job description

Vice President of Construction – Electrical Contracting Palm Beach Gardens, FL - Onsite + Project Site Visits Industry: Electrical Contracting Compensation: $175,000–$200,000 Base + Performance Incentives

We are partnering with a well-established, family-owned electrical contractor seeking an experienced Vice President of Construction to lead its construction operations through a significant period of growth.

This is a senior leadership role for an electrical construction executive who has successfully led large-scale operations, owned P&L performance, developed strong field leadership teams, and understands how to scale an organization without losing accountability or culture.

The company currently has approximately 100 employees, the majority in the field, and is building toward significant expansion over the next several years.

What You'll Lead

  • Oversee Commercial, Residential and Preconstruction operations
  • Own construction performance from estimating handoff through project completion
  • Maintain direct P&L responsibility across construction operations
  • Lead field operations including staffing, scheduling, labor productivity and job-level decisions
  • Manage performance against labor budgets, schedules, gross margin and project forecasts
  • Ensure clean estimating-to-operations handoffs and disciplined project buyouts
  • Protect project margins and prevent profit fade from estimate through completion
  • Drive accountability around change orders, WIP, job costing and labor productivity
  • Lead and develop Field Leaders, Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers and other key construction personnel
  • Build a scalable leadership pipeline as the organization grows
  • Own construction safety, operational procedures, reporting rhythms and field performance dashboards
  • Partner directly with executive ownership on growth strategy and operational performance

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of construction operations leadership experience
  • Significant background within electrical contracting or MEP construction
  • Current or previous leadership at the Director, VP, COO, President or comparable executive level
  • Experience helping lead an electrical contracting organization or major electrical operation at significant scale, ideally $100M+
  • Direct ownership of P&L, budgets, margins and operational performance
  • Strong command of WIP, labor productivity, job costing, buyouts, change orders and project financials
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects, departments or construction divisions simultaneously
  • Proven success developing Foremen, Superintendents, PMs and other leaders into larger roles
  • Comfortable staying connected to field teams while operating at the executive level
  • Ability to drive aggressive growth while maintaining structure, accountability and a people-first culture

Leadership Style We're looking for a leader who can see the big picture and execute.

The right person will be decisive, entrepreneurial and comfortable making difficult operational decisions while still building strong relationships throughout the organization. This is not a behind-the-desk executive role. You'll need to understand what's happening in the field, challenge the numbers, develop leaders and create the operating structure needed to scale.

Success requires someone who can balance growth, profitability, accountability and people development.

Culture This is a multi-generational, family-owned organization with a strong Christian, faith-forward culture. Its mission and values are central to how the business operates, how employees are treated and how leadership decisions are made.

The organization is highly focused on building strong families, developing people internally and creating sustainable growth without sacrificing quality of life.

Candidates should be comfortable working within and supporting a faith-forward environment.

Why This Opportunity? This is an opportunity to step into a highly influential executive position during a major growth phase.

You'll have the ability to shape construction operations, develop the next generation of field leadership, build scalable systems and help take an established electrical contractor into its next stage.

There is also a clear potential path toward COO-level leadership as the organization continues to grow.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $175,000–$200,000 base salary
  • Performance-based incentive opportunity
  • Additional bonus/equity potential may be considered for the right executive
  • Medical coverage with PPO and HMO options
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Additional employee quality-of-life and wellness programs

This is an onsite leadership position based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with regular involvement at project sites throughout South Florida.
