Summary:

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our IT Engineering DevSecOps team! As a Cloud Engineer on our team, you’ll directly contribute to tool and capability recommendations based on your research of the current environment and design strategy. You’ll be part of our team and work with our cloud architect to design, secure, and automate our cloud strategies.

This is a full time REMOTE position that can be performed anywhere in the US.

What You Will Do:

• Supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of AWS GovCloud and Azure GCC High cloud environments and provides recommendations related to network and security best practices.

• Works within an Agile DevSecOps environment and collaborates with remote teams to implement and support Continuous Delivery pipelines and cloud-based solutions.

• Collaborates with functional business units to understand business requirements, support solution development, and help identify dependencies and technical requirements.

• Identifies and helps mitigate technological and operational risks while contributing to the development of practical solutions that support business processes.

• Assists in developing and maintaining technical documentation for the integration and implementation of cloud-based systems.

• Supports infrastructure sizing, capacity planning, and requirements analysis for cloud infrastructure, networking, and security solutions.

• Contributes to the successful execution of projects and initiatives and may lead specific technical tasks or workstreams as assigned.

• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters requiring coordination across teams and organizations.

• Participates in cloud technology planning, requirements gathering, and solution development for enterprise cloud initiatives.

• Applies a security-first approach to cloud engineering activities, helping to minimize risk while delivering cloud solutions that meet company, program, and customer compliance requirements (e.g., CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, SOX).

• Conducts research and develops Proofs of Concept (POCs) to evaluate emerging technologies and determine their applicability within the environment.

• Stays current with evolving cloud technologies, services, and industry best practices and provides recommendations to improve cloud capabilities and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For:

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

• Experience working with remote and geographically distributed teams

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform

• Experience with automated configuration management and compliance tools such as Ansible Automation Platform or Salt

• Experience supporting AWS and/or Azure cloud environments

• Experience with one or more scripting/programming languages, such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python

• Experience with version control systems, including Git

• Experience supporting and maintaining Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Ubuntu environments

• Experience working within Agile development teams

• Experience with identity and access management solutions, including Active Directory, Okta, Entra ID, and AWS IAM

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, EKS, or Podman

• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and platforms such as GitLab and JFrog

• Experience implementing and supporting API, webhook, and event-driven integrations across enterprise platforms

• Understanding of NIST 800-171 and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements

Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting multi-cloud environments across AWS and Azure

• Experience with DevSecOps tools, practices, and automation

• Experience with API and integration design

• Cloud certifications such as: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, or similar

• Experience supporting secure, regulated environments and compliance-driven initiatives
