PURPOSE

Responsible for successful set-up and implementation of EPIC software and subsequent upgrades relative to billing and claims. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems in order to automate or modify existing systems. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides EPIC project methodology guidance and advice to all levels of users and technical staff.

  • Assists cross-functional teams involved in implementation and upgrades.

  • Works with end users in clinic operations and billing and collections units to understand and analyze current business processes and requirements in order to identify unmet needs.

  • Researches technology and identifies ways to automate current processes or make necessary system enhancements/changes in order to streamline processes.

  • Works with EPIC programmers and in-house IT staff to modify/enhance system.

  • Writes technical documentation and workflow processes.

  • Builds, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains software.

  • Builds reports and provides data analysis.

  • Monitors and ensures optimal EPIC system performance on an ongoing basis.

  • Ensures EPIC seamlessly interfaces with other internal systems and external vendor systems, as appropriate.

  • Recommends use of new systematic functionality to improve workflows and over-all efficiency.

  • Maintain Epic operational integrity; including but not limited to Master Files.

  • Ensures Epic Claims functionality is maintained at highest level of performance.

  • Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.

  • Regular and dependable attendance.

  • Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on CMSweb.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Required: High school diploma or GED. Five (5) or more years of related work experience. Two (2) or more years of Epic system experience in Resolute, Prelude, Claims or Charge Router.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related area.

Required Certificate/License: Current EPIC Resolute, Claims, Prelude or related certification.

  • In-depth knowledge of CMS/ARC clinic operations and billing & collections functions and how they interrelate.

  • In-depth knowledge of Billing and Collections in either a clinic or ambulatory setting

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Location: Candidates must be located in Texas and be available for occasional in-person training and team meetings in Austin, Texas.
