Summary
These Financial Management Analysts positions work within the National Fraud Enforcement Division ("Fraud Division"). These positions provide support to the Fraud Division and external agencies within the U.S. Department of Justice. Direct-Hire Authority (DHA) is a hiring authority granted by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to address critical hiring needs or severe candidate shortages.
Duties
The duties and responsibilities for a Financial Analyst in the Fraud Division generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducts comprehensive financial analysis and evaluation of programs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, and agency policies. Develops, reviews, and interprets financial data, reports, and statements to support decision-making and resource allocation. Prepares, monitors, and manages budgets, forecasts, and financial plans; identifies trends, variances, and potential issues. Coordinates and collaborates with program managers, budget officers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Utilizes financial management systems and tools to track, reconcile, and report on financial activities. Prepares briefing materials, presentations, and written reports for senior leadership and external oversight entities. Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Financial Management Analyst, at GS-0501-13, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing automated financial systems and/or software to solve complex problems in financial reporting; and utilizing data from multiple types of financial reports to provide support to program activities. You MUST meet all qualification requirements by the 10/14/2026 of this announcement. Your resume must support your responses to the application questionnaire and the qualification requirements. How You Will Be Evaluated
Once the job opportunity announcement closes (at 11:59 pm ET on 10/14/2026, your qualifications will be evaluated based on your application materials (e.g., resume, supporting documents) along with the results of the applied assessment. The online assessment measures critical general competencies required to perform the job. The assessment includes a cut score based on the minimum level of required proficiency in these critical general competencies. You must meet or exceed the cut score to be considered. You will not be considered for the position if you score below the cut score or fail to complete the assessment. Your USAHIRE assessment results will be kept on record for one year and used toward future positions for which you might apply that require the same assessments.
