Full job description

  • Incumbent serves as the principal administrative assistant to the warden.
  • He/she will perform various tasks for the warden, prepares correspondences and reports for the warden and central office staff.
  • Communicates in person, telephone and through correspondence with inmates' families, attorneys and government officials.
  • Answers queries from inmates' relatives and others; responds to inmate's complaints; provides information for inmates.
  • Prepares (writes) general and special reports, correspondence and policy/procedures directives relating to administrative functions.
  • Responsible for the routine coordination of IRC functions.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of the institutional escape/emergency plan and submit required reports.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements; A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

  • A high school diploma and related clerical experience.
