Full job description

Wearlinq is reimagining ambulatory cardiac monitoring with the first FDA-cleared, real-time, six-lead EKG designed to be easier for patients, clinicians, and health systems alike. We sit at the intersection of clinical cardiology, hardware, software, and data, building products that turn complex cardiac signals into clear, actionable insights. About the Role We are looking for an organized, hands-on IT technician to keep our employees equipped, secure, and productive. You will set up and secure company computers, handle new hire and departing employee IT tasks, manage IT equipment from purchase to return, and provide day-to-day helpdesk support. This is a great starting role for someone building a career in IT; training is provided. Duties and Responsibilities: Device Setup and Security

  • Image and configure new PCs and laptops using company standard builds and remote deployment tools.
  • Install and verify required security tools (endpoint protection, web filtering, disk encryption, remote management) before devices are issued.
  • Apply operating system updates and patches; confirm devices meet company security standards.

Onboarding and Off Boarding

  • Prepare equipment and accounts for new hires and walk them through first login and security setup.
  • Off board departing employees by following the checklist: remove account access and arrange device return.

Procurement and IT Inventory

  • Request quotes and order IT equipment and accessories according to approved standards.
  • Receive, tag, and record new equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate IT inventory: serial number, assigned user, location, warranty, and status of every device.

Shipping, Logistics, and Equipment Retrieval

  • Pack and ship equipment to remote employees (UPS WorldShip, Endicia) and track deliveries.
  • Retrieve equipment from departing or remote employees: send return kits and labels, follow up until received.
  • Inspect, wipe, and re-stage returned devices for reuse, repair, or disposal.

Helpdesk Support

  • Respond to employee requests by email, phone, and ticket; troubleshoot login, email, printer, Wi-Fi/VPN, and hardware issues.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions in Google Workspace and the company web portal.
  • Help employees with company applications (e.g., Rhythmstar, VivaQuant, Cardiologs, NextGen) and escalate issues as needed.
  • Perform routine daily checks, including the fax server and report filing to the web portal.
  • Write simple how-to guides for employees and keep IT documentation up to date.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; IT coursework, associate degree, or CompTIA A+ a plus.
  • 1–2 years of IT support, help desk, or related experience (internships and lab experience count).
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10/11; basic macOS a plus.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization, especially for inventory and shipping.
  • Clear, patient communication with non-technical users.
  • Able to lift and pack equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Respects confidentiality; will complete HIPAA training.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Google Workspace administration.
  • Familiarity with remote management or ticketing tools.
  • Experience shipping with UPS WorldShip or similar.

We offer a great team oriented environment. You'll work in our Rockville, MD office, located with other department teams.

Some flexibility to work remotely from home, depending on proven performance and ability to get things done!
