General Manager of Catering & Events Malvern, PA area | Onsite | $100K-$120K DOE + $25K-$40K potential commissions

About the Opportunity A long-standing event company in the Malvern, PA area is seeking a General Manager of Catering & Events to run day-to-day operations across four venues, multiple catering brands, and two food trucks, with events throughout the Philadelphia region. You’ll turn ownership’s priorities into daily execution and run operations independently. This is a hands-on role for a leader who loves high-volume events and is equally comfortable reviewing a P&L or pouring drinks on a busy Saturday. Schedule

Onsite, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with some evenings and weekends for very large events.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $100,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Potential commissions of $25,000-$40,000 per year, including liquor sales and upsells

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee execution across all four venues, the catering brands, and both food trucks, including Event Order review, timelines, staffing, and on-site leadership for high-profile events
  • Manage event logistics and planning, including weather contingencies and event-day pivots
  • Roll up your sleeves on event days to serve, bartend, and set up as needed
  • Hire, onboard, schedule, train, and manage venue, event, and admin staff
  • Lead the Executive Chef, Staffing Coordinators, Event Coordinators, Facility Sales, and Warehouse Manager
  • Oversee the Sales and Event Coordination teams, field pricing questions, and give final approval on all invoices
  • Serve as the point of resolution for client escalations
  • Partner with the Executive Chef on menu and package pricing, culinary Event Orders, and kitchen staffing
  • Review weekly cash flow and deposits; approve AP, timesheets, payroll, and gratuity distribution; review venue P&Ls with outsourced accounting
  • Run bar operations, PA PLCB liquor ordering, and beverage vendors, and drive commissionable liquor sales and upsells
  • Manage Caterease and Google Workspace licensing
  • Work with HR, insurance, unemployment, and lease management partners
  • Manage vendors, facilities teams, and logistics with the Warehouse Manager
  • Act as ownership’s liaison, implementing new processes and systems

Must Haves

  • 5+ years in catering, banquet, or multi-unit event operations management
  • Experience leading managers across sales, event coordination, and culinary
  • Working knowledge of P&Ls, food and labor cost, and cash management
  • Proven success in high-volume, multi-site event environments
  • Board of Health certifications
  • Liquor license certifications (PA RAMP / liquor compliance experience)
  • Ability to run operations independently with limited day-to-day owner involvement
  • Willingness to be hands-on during events
  • Polished in-person presence for client-facing time at large events
