  • Document all work performed and recommended services clearly and completely on the work order, including diagnostics, parts used, and labor performed.

  • Road test vehicles when required to verify repairs and ensure proper operation, or coordinate with the shop foreman for road testing as needed.

  • Stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins, recalls, and updates related to electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as conventional vehicle systems.

  • Supervise and support other technicians by providing guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training on maintenance processes and protocols.

  • Train newer technicians on EV maintenance procedures, high-voltage safety practices, and diagnostic methods.

  • Maintain accountability for all company-owned tools, manuals, and equipment, ensuring they are returned to their proper locations and kept in good condition.

  • Travel frequently, including air travel on short notice, to customer locations in multiple states to perform on-site maintenance, repairs, and EV battery services.

  • Work independently in the field, managing schedules, coordinating with customers, and driving maintenance programs with minimal supervision.

  • Interface directly with customers in a professional and presentable manner, representing the organization positively and clearly explaining service findings and recommendations.

Essential Skills

  • Electric Vehicle (EV) certification from ASE or an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

  • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience working with electric vehicles, including EV maintenance and repair.

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.

  • Master-level technician experience with advanced diagnostic and repair capabilities.

  • A minimum of 4 ASE certifications and the willingness and ability to obtain the remaining ASE certifications within 1 year.

  • Proven experience working with high-voltage systems in electric or hybrid vehicles.

  • Demonstrated experience replacing EV batteries and performing EV battery service.

  • Experience using diagnostic software and performing software updates on vehicles.

  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation.

  • Experience traveling for work, including the ability to manage frequent travel requirements.

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5070% of the time to locations such as Michigan, Ohio, and California.

  • Willingness to board a plane within 48 hours notice for field service assignments.

  • Prior experience training or mentoring newer technicians on maintenance processes and protocols.

  • Capability to work independently, manage tasks without direct supervision, and lead a maintenance program on-site.

  • Professional customer-facing skills, including clear communication and a presentable, service-oriented demeanor.

  • Must be based in Arizona near the training center in Chandler for training and operational needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electric vehicle systems, including high-voltage components, EV batteries, and related safety practices.
