A Snapshot of Your Day

Join Siemens Energy as a Civil Structural Engineer and support Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects across the U.S. You will prepare and deliver civil and structural designs while working closely with internal engineering disciplines, external engineering resources, procurement managers, project engineers, project managers, and construction contractors. You will help design the grading, buildings, foundations, steel structures, overhead conductors, and rigid bus systems that support reliable grid infrastructure. Step into a collaborative team where your engineering judgment, technical detail, and clear communication help stabilize the electric grid and improve reliability for customers.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Prepare calculations, seismic requirements, drawings, and specifications for grading, buildings, foundations, steel structures, overhead conductors, and rigid bus.

  • Develop conceptual designs for pricing, then perform detailed civil and structural designs and calculations for project execution.

  • Review and approve internal and external engineering packages, including manufacturer technical documentation.

  • Ensure internal and outsourced engineering meets project requirements, customer specifications, governing standards, and sound constructability practices.

  • Develop engineering execution plans that support project schedules and communicate design risks clearly to the project manager.

  • Support Proposal and Project Execution teams during project delivery, customer meetings, and domestic project site visits.

What You Bring

  • You have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis; a master’s degree in civil/structural engineering is preferred.

  • You hold a Professional Engineering License in a U.S. state.

  • You bring 8+ years of Civil Structural Engineering experience, with preference for High Voltage Gas-Insulated Substations and Air-Insulated Substations projects for Utility and Industrial customers. Candidates with more years of experience may be considered for a higher level and vice versa.

  • You have extensive knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and ASTM standards.

  • You are skilled with discipline-specific software such as Staad Pro, SAP 2000, RISA, L-Pile, SAG-10, PLS-CAD/Lite, or similar tools.

  • You bring strong team and communication skills; proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma is a plus. Domestic travel to customer meetings and project sites is approximately 20%.

  • If not already located in the Raleigh, NC area, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance may be provided).
