Job Description
Stanford's Graduate School of Business (https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/) (GSB) has built a global reputation based on its immersive and innovative management programs. We provide students a transformative leadership experience, pushing the boundaries of knowledge with faculty research, and offering a portfolio of entrepreneurial and non-degree programs that deliver global impact. We invite you to be part of our mission of developing innovative, principled, and insightful leaders who change lives, change organizations, and change the world.
Success at the GSB is defined by The GSB Way - a commitment to shared purpose, community, and excellence in all that we do. We seek individuals who elevate themselves and those around them through the practice of academic candor, generous collaboration, and bringing curiosity and rigor to solving meaningful problems. At the GSB, impact means taking ownership, and contributing to a purpose-driven, collaborative, and high-performing community in service to the institution’s mission.
Stanford Ecopreneurship is a joint partnership between the GSB and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability (SDSS), on a mission to accelerate the multi-trillion-dollar global transition to a sustainable, resilient future through the power of entrepreneurship. We are seeking an Associate Director (AD) to lead three co-curricular learning programs for students building ventures at the intersection of entrepreneurship and sustainability. You will design, deliver, and measure the impact of these programs alongside a vibrant Ecopreneurship community: Stanford faculty, staff, and students from across the university, plus external advisors and mentors.
In this role, you will lead the strategy and execution of three flagship programs:
-
EcoSprint, an 8-week summer program for students evaluating their own sustainability venture idea
-
EcoX, an 8-week summer program for students to evaluate go-to-market for sustainability innovations developed at Stanford
-
EcoSIF, a postgraduate fellowship program that supports students continuing to develop their sustainability venture ideas
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
-
Excellent program and project management skills, with the ability to plan and run a high volume of diverse activities across multiple programs
-
Remarkable autonomy and inherent motivation to create high-quality work
-
Exceptional attention to detail
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Strong data analysis skills to assess program impact and uncover opportunities for continuous improvement
Duties unique to this position:
-
Identify student learning needs, select curriculum resources with staff and faculty, and organize workshops and events
-
Manage the multi-step application and selection process for participants
-
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality programming that aligns with other university offerings
-
Develop, plan for, and execute complex logistical operations for these co-curricular programs
-
Evaluate & analyze program impact, maintain program records, and use this information to lead continuous program improvements and to report program results to various stakeholders.
Please submit both a resume and a cover letter telling us why this role excites you and how your skills align with it. We read every cover letter; they matter in our initial review.
This position is campus-based with limited hybrid flexibility. This is a 3-year fixed term position.
The budgeted salary for this position is $132,000-$141,000.
