Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Pomona, California. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing close activities, and ensuring balance sheet integrity across daily and monthly processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage reconciliations and reporting with consistency and accuracy. Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Maintain the general ledger by recording and validating financial transactions in alignment with accounting standards and company policies.

• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and a high level of accuracy.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and maintain clean financial records.

• Complete bank reconciliations regularly to confirm cash activity and investigate outstanding items.

• Analyze financial data and account balances to support reporting accuracy and improve the reliability of month-end results.

• Use Microsoft Excel to organize data, build supporting schedules, and streamline recurring accounting tasks.

• Work within Sage 100 to process accounting transactions, review ledger activity, and support day-to-day financial operations.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and general ledger activities.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and perform thorough account reconciliations independently.

• Hands-on experience completing bank reconciliations and resolving related discrepancies.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation support.

• Experience using Sage 100 in an accounting environment.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting accuracy.

• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a manufacturing setting.
