How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Execute internal review and audit programs, including spot checks, trade compliance audits, and corrective action management, to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks while ensuring continuous improvement of customs processes and controls.

  • Monitor regulatory developments in North American trade laws and customs regulations, driving appropriate process and control enhancements to maintain compliance with applicable requirements.

  • Ensure timely and compliant payment and reconciliation of customs duties and broker fees in collaboration with Finance, Accounting, and Controlling functions, supporting accurate financial reporting and duty optimization.

  • Lead and manage projects focused on advancing customs process automation and digitalization to strengthen compliance, improve operational efficiency, and optimize customs-related costs.

  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and development to a geographically distributed regional quality team, while partnering with business stakeholders, customs brokers, service providers, and operational teams throughout North America to align customs compliance with business objectives.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Law, or a related field.

  • 8–10 years of experience in customs, international trade compliance, or a related discipline, with significant experience supporting customs operations in the United States and Canada.

  • Extensive knowledge of North American customs regulations and compliance requirements, including tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin, import/export controls, recordkeeping, and customs internal control frameworks.

  • Experience with trade audit methodologies, regulatory risk assessment, internal control programs, and the development and implementation of customs quality management and governance frameworks.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, including direct supervision, mentorship, and development of geographically distributed and cross-functional teams in a complex, multinational environment.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives, Finance, Accounting, Controlling, customs brokers, service providers, operational teams, and regulatory authorities. Experience with customs IT solutions, process automation, and digitalization initiatives is highly desirable. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification is preferred.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
