Project Engineer (Mechanical Engineer)

Job Description

A customer of Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer to join their engineering team. This role will support both product development initiatives and day-to-day manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical engineering background, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is comfortable working across design, production, and customer-facing projects.

Responsibilities - - - - Develop and improve mechanical products from concept through production.

Partner with manufacturing teams to resolve production and quality challenges.

Support customer-driven engineering requests, including custom product modifications and new product opportunities.

Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

Collaborate with suppliers, production personnel, quality teams, and customers to identify and implement practical engineering solutions.

Analyze design performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability, manufacturability, and efficiency.

Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation activities.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

4+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or product-focused environment.

Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software. Experience supporting machining, fabrication, fittings, fluid systems, or industrial components.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical design principles.

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience, including ANSYS, is preferred but not required. Background with industrial manufacturers, component suppliers, or organizations that produce mechanical assemblies and engineered products.

Experience working closely with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges.

Familiarity with stainless steel products, industrial fittings, pressure systems, or similar engineered solutions.
