Job Title: Election IT Technician

About the Role
Weld County Elections is seeking five Election IT Technicians to support polling locations during the November 2026 Election cycle. These technicians will provide onsite technical support at assigned election locations and serve as the first point of contact for election judges and polling staff experiencing technology-related issues.
Each technician will support one primary polling location while also providing coverage for several additional polling sites within an assigned geographic area. This is primarily a customer service and technical support role. Technicians are not expected to perform advanced networking, server administration, or complex systems troubleshooting. The Weld County Elections IT team will manage all major technical escalations.
Technicians will gather troubleshooting information, perform basic diagnostics, communicate findings back to the Elections IT team, and help ensure uninterrupted election operations.
Project Duration: October 30, 2026 through November 4, 2026
Responsibilities

Provide onsite technology support during election operations

Support election judges and polling staff with technology-related questions and issues

Perform basic troubleshooting including:

Rebooting computers and devices
-
Verifying internet and network connectivity
-
Troubleshooting peripherals and equipment
-
Escalate outages and technical issues immediately to Weld County Elections IT staff
-
Gather troubleshooting details and communicate findings accurately
-
Travel between assigned election locations when requested
-
Participate in polling location setup activities
-
Assist with unloading, transporting, and moving election equipment
-
Support election site teardown and equipment collection following Election Day
-
Maintain professional, nonpartisan conduct at all times

Competencies

Basic computer and technical troubleshooting experience

Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required

Ability to travel throughout Weld County

Ability to work independently

Ability to lift and move approximately 20+ pounds

Business Impact
This team is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted election operations, minimizing downtime at polling locations, and providing immediate onsite support for election staff throughout the election cycle. Success in this role directly contributes to efficient and reliable polling site operations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
