Position Summary/Description:
The UNC Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time reproductive psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join the Center for Women’s Mood Disorders. Since its founding in 2004, the Center has been committed to delivering outstanding clinical care, scientific discovery, training the next generation of investigators and clinicians, and informing policy in women’s reproductive mood disorders. The Center is the primary referral resource in North Carolina for perinatal patients with complex psychiatric illness, and it operates a dedicated Perinatal Psychiatry Inpatient Unit. Demand for the program’s services continues to grow with many referrals from OB- GYN , family medicine, and statewide partners.
The successful candidate will provide specialty outpatient care across the female reproductive lifespan, including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, perimenopausal depression, and menstrually-related mood disorders; contribute to inpatient care on the Perinatal Psychiatry Inpatient Unit; participate in the NC- MATTERS statewide consultation line, extending reproductive psychiatry expertise to clinicians across North Carolina; supervise psychiatry residents and trainees within the Women’s Mood Disorders clinical services; and participate in the research program of the Center.
This is a fixed term faculty position. Rank will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the candidate. This position is in person, with a limited hybrid component for the NC- MATTERS consultation line and administrative work.
