Job Description
Stanford’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (“DAPER”) is the premier intercollegiate athletics program in the country. We are the proud Home of Champions! We lead the nation with 139 NCAA championship titles and a legacy of sustained excellence, including multiple Women’s Capital One Cup victories, and have brought home the Learfield Director’s Cup 26 times. We support nearly 900 student-athletes who compete on 36 intercollegiate athletics teams and also support the university’s physical education, recreation and wellness initiatives.
Join DAPER as a finance and accounting professional supporting our varsity sport programs. In this on-site role, you’ll manage day-to-day accounting for assigned sports, including invoices, purchases, and summer camp finances, while partnering with coaches and department leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. You’ll prepare and analyze financial reports from multiple systems and confirm that all accounting and travel activity complies with department policies, conference rules, and NCAA regulations.
You’ll serve as a go-to resource for your assigned sports on accounting, finance, travel, and technology, and will cross-train on other teams and units to provide backup coverage. The role also includes administering department cell phones and computer equipment (ordering, distribution, and returns for new, current, and departing staff) and supporting the new Ramp credit card platform, including transaction processing, reconciliation, and integration with the university accounting system.
