We invite you to become part of Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network Overview The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking aPer Diem Physical Therapistto support its orthopedic rehabilitation program in partnership with the Connecticut Orthopedic Institute (COI).Afternoon and evening availability preferred. This role will serve asprimary orthopedic support, providing rehabilitation services for patients recovering from joint replacement, spine, and other orthopedic procedures. The Physical Therapist will also assist withacute care coverageas needed and may providecross-coverage at MidState Medical Center's COI program. The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides evidence-based interventions to promote mobility, safety, functional recovery, and discharge readiness. Responsibilities include patient and caregiver education, postoperative mobility, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to established clinical standards and rehabilitation protocols. The Physical Therapist reports to the Regional Orthopedic Rehabilitation Supervisor and works collaboratively with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation colleagues, and the interdisciplinary team to support high-quality patient care. * * Additional Job Responsibilities * Evaluates patients and develops individualized treatment plans. * Provides physical therapy interventions to improve mobility, balance, strength, and functional independence. * Supports postoperative mobility, patient education, and discharge planning. * Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care. * Provides orthopedic and acute care coverage based on department needs. * Cross-covers at MidState COI as needed. * Participates in quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities. * Assists with clinical education of students and colleagues as appropriate. * Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program. * Current State of Connecticut Physical Therapy license required or active temporary license at time of hire. * Acute Care or inpatient orthopedic experience highly preferred. * Experience working with orthopedic and postoperative joint replacement populations preferred. * Open to new graduates with acute care clinical experience. * Flexibility to support varying shifts and locations as needed; afternoon and evening availability preferred.
