Location: Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) Shift: Days (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Worker Type: Regular Exemption Status: Yes Job Summary: Please note: This position does not allow for J1 waiver sponsorship.
Join a collaborative Infectious Disease team at Geisinger in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Geisinger is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Infectious Disease physician to join our team at Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
GCMC is a 293-bed acute care hospital serving Lackawanna County and communities throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. The medical center offers broad specialty support and a Level II trauma center. Job Duties:
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of infectious diseases
- Provide evidence-based antimicrobial treatment and management
- Evaluate patients with complex infections, unexplained fevers and other infectious disease conditions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, specialists and other clinical professionals
- Participate in Geisinger’s educational and quality improvement mission
- Have opportunities to work with residents and medical students
Position Details:
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease
- Completion of an Infectious Disease fellowship
- Commitment to excellent patient care and safety
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required) Experience:
