Location: Houston

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.

Location: Houston only

The opportunity

At EY Consulting, we are building a better working world by transforming businesses through the power of people, technology, and innovation. Our clients are at the heart of what we do. We’re focused on solving the key issues of our client buyers, building deeper relationships, and generating lasting value with significant impact.

Our firm sets the standard for consulting services, fostering an environment that encourages career ownership at every stage. As a part of our team, you'll be at the forefront of this dynamic service line, driving change and delivering solutions that revolutionize business operations. You’ll help our clients in transformation and innovation efforts: driving growth, reducing costs, and building future-ready organizations.

Your key responsibilities

EY’s Transformation Architecture and Delivery (TAD) practice offers a dynamic career path for professionals passionate about solving complex business, technology, and engineering challenges. As a Manager, you’ll lead engagement teams helping Oil & Gas and energy clients deliver transformation initiatives and capital project programs across the full asset lifecycle, owning the delivery of architecture frameworks, program management, project controls, and value realization. You'll have the opportunity to build your career across TAD Business and TAD Technology Strategy teams based on your strengths and interests.

TAD Business: Lead Oil & Gas and energy client engagements to plan and deliver capital programs and transformation initiatives through TMO/PMO frameworks, including stage-gate (FEL/FEED) governance, EPC and contractor oversight, and project controls (cost, schedule, risk, earned value). You’ll manage workstreams and teams, advise client executives on CAPEX governance and business cases, and drive value realization from project sanction through commissioning and handover.

TAD Technology Strategy: Advise Oil & Gas and energy clients on aligning technology investments with business and capital project priorities. You’ll lead the design of technology operating models, cost and sourcing strategies, and M&A integration, and guide the adoption of engineering data, asset information management, digital twins, and integrated project controls platforms to improve capital efficiency and asset performance.

Industry sectors

Our practice serves clients across industries, with a focus on Oil & Gas (upstream, midstream, and downstream), Power & Utilities, Chemicals, and other capital-intensive sectors.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering or related field preferred) and 5–8+ years of experience in capital projects, engineering, technology strategy, transformation, or program management

  • Direct experience across the Oil & Gas capital project lifecycle, including FEL/stage-gate, FEED, EPC management, project controls, turnarounds, and commissioning

  • Consulting or industry experience leading client-facing transformation programs or capital projects, including managing teams and workstreams

  • Experience using AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to enhance productivity and analysis

  • Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial skills with an agile, execution-oriented mindset

  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours based on client needs (65 – 80%)

  • Access to reliable transportation to/from EY offices and client sites, as required

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience leading PMO/EPMO set-up, capital project governance, and end-to-end program or portfolio delivery

  • Experience with technology operating models, roadmaps, enterprise architecture, and engineering and asset information management

  • Familiarity with project controls and delivery tools (e.g., Primavera P6, EcoSys, MS Project, Jira) and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)

  • Business development experience, including leading RFP responses, proposals, and client presentations, and building trusted client relationships

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing team members

  • PMP or other relevant project management certification

  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills to develop executive-ready deliverables
