The engineers of the mid-1900s put a man on the moon in eight years, designed and built planes and submarines from scratch in under three, and conceived of building things we wouldn’t even be able to dream up today. Today, the last of the engineers who imagined and built these systems are retiring. As they go, we lose not only the engineering knowledge gained from their decades of imagination and trial-and-error, but also the spirit that made that imagination possible. Amca is working day-in and day-out to restore America’s ability to engineer anything that our critical systems depend on, and reinvigorate the cycle of creation that allows imagination to shape physical reality. Overview Amca is hiring a temporary Technical Writer on the Business Operations team to obtain, update, and organize technical documentation. This will start as a 3-6 month contract position onsite at Amca's headquarters with the opportunity for extensions. Responsibilities

• Obtain and organize Technical Data Packages from government and commercial sources.
• Generate CAD models and drawings based on source material and engineering requirements.
• Work with various off-site factories to organize and digitize legacy documentation.
• Help develop, proofread, and submit proposals for customers across a variety of formats and product types.

Basic Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work.
• Comfortable with a high volume of repetitive, structured work and able to keep pace with a daily intake list without losing accuracy.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint/OneDrive-style file management.
• Ability to read an engineering drawings and a specifications.
• Ability to work on-site in El Segundo, CA for the full term.
• U.S. person status (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) as required for access to ITAR-controlled technical data.

Preferred

• Associate's or bachelor's degree, or coursework, in engineering technology, drafting, technical communication, library/information science, or a related field.
• Prior experience working in AS9100 or ISO 9001 aerospace and defense organizations
• Familiarity with Confluence or Jira, and with basic spreadsheet automation.
• Experience handling controlled documents (ITAR, CUI, proprietary data).

Hourly Pay Range $28—$38 USD
