Full job description

Description

Are you a technical leader who thrives on building high-performing teams and solving complex architectural challenges? Amazon is looking for a Manager III, Solutions Architect to lead a team of talented solutions architects who help customers design and implement scalable, reliable cloud-based solutions. In this role, you will combine your deep technical expertise with people leadership to guide your team in delivering impactful architectural recommendations that address real customer needs.

You will define strategy, set goals, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure your team delivers measurable outcomes. From mentoring individual contributors to shaping long-term technical direction, your work will directly influence how customers build and grow on Amazon's platforms. If you are a collaborative, curious leader who enjoys working at the intersection of technology and business, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities

Lead SAP Finance functional strategy and delivery across financial accounting, controlling, and Record-to-Report (R2R), ensuring solutions align with business priorities and long-term architecture.

Own end-to-end SAP Finance implementations and enhancements, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and production support.

Drive finance process standardization and transformation across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, and financial close processes.

Lead and develop a team of SAP Finance professionals, setting priorities, managing performance, building functional expertise, and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Partner with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and SAP Technology teams to deliver integrated business solutions and resolve complex cross-functional challenges.

Drive SAP S/4HANA adoption and optimization, leveraging standard SAP capabilities, maintaining clean-core principles, and minimizing custom development.

Establish strong financial controls and compliance, ensuring accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, reconciliations, and adherence to accounting policies.

Identify opportunities for automation and innovation using SAP capabilities, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve finance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

A day in the life

Your morning might start with a one-on-one coaching session, helping a solutions architect prepare for a customer engagement. By midday, you could be reviewing an architectural proposal with engineering partners, pressure-testing assumptions and refining the approach. Afternoons often involve strategic planning - defining metrics, assessing team capacity, or aligning with stakeholders on upcoming priorities. Throughout it all, you will balance tactical problem-solving with long-term thinking, ensuring your team has the support and clarity they need to do their best work.

About the team

Our team is focused on helping customers navigate complex challenges and build solutions that scale. We operate in a collaborative environment where stakeholders, architects, and SI partners work closely together to deliver results that matter. We are committed to building an inclusive team culture where every voice is heard and contributions are recognized.

Looking ahead, we are investing in new approaches to solution design and customer engagement. As a leader on this team, you will play a key role in shaping that direction and growing the next generation of technical talent at Amazon.

  • Strong expertise in SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO), including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and Product Costing.

  • Experience with Record-to-Report (R2R), month-end/year-end close, financial reconciliations, and internal controls.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to establish strong partnerships with demonstrable results
