We are seeking experienced Laborers/Millwright to work in our Project located in Norfolk, VA.

How you will contribute to the team:

  • Assist with above‑ground and underground pipe installation for water and wastewater systems.

  • Support piping, mechanical, and tank installations.

  • Perform layout for tank placement and mechanical installations.

  • Read and interpret construction drawings with minimal supervision.

  • Assist with shooting elevations and maintaining proper grades.

  • Perform excavation and backfilling tasks safely and efficiently.

  • Support equipment operators and assist with basic machinery operation.

  • Plan and organize daily work tasks to support crew productivity.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

  • Follow all company policies and job‑site safety procedures.

  • Perform other general labor and construction‑related duties as assigned.

What you will bring to the role

  • Experience in structural and mechanical repairs, particularly on movable bridges, preferred.

  • Experience in underground utilities and machinery installation preferred; construction experience is a plus but not required.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and layouts.

  • Knowledge of underground utility installation, grading, and layout requirements.

  • Experience with mechanical alignments, precision measurements (up to 0.001 inch), and machinery fit requirements.

  • Knowledge of turned bolt installation and proper assembly techniques.

  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined or elevated spaces.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.

  • Ability to maintain clean, organized work areas and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Interest in career growth toward foreman or superintendent roles.

  • Must comply with the company's drug-free workplace policy, including required pre-employment and job-related testing, as this is a safety-sensitive position.

The salary range for this position is between $25 and $40 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. PCL combines numerous pay and benefit strategies to provide a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package.
