Full job description

Our client, Optical Manufacturing is seeking a Optical Technician to join their team. As a Optical Technician, you will be part of the Lab Operations department supporting daily production and quality-focused workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment—skills that will help you contribute to smooth lab operations from start to finish.

Job Title: Optical Technician

Location: Schertz, TX

Pay Range: $14-$16/hr

What's the Job?

  • Under direct supervision, perform a variety of tasks related to daily lab operations and production

  • Support department tasks including Optical Technician (Level 1) functions such as cosmetic inspection and lens restocking

  • Handle inventory control activities including assisting with stocking lens shelves, sorting and distributing trays, and pulling semi-finished or finished lenses

  • Operate the automatic taper and assist with tinting edged and uncut lenses

  • Support expeditor and pre-shipping wash-up functions, including flagging work to move and providing needed masks/cloths as required

What's Needed?

  • 1 to 2 years of manufacturing, production, or optical tech experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the functions of an Optical Technician (Level 1)

  • Ability to work any shift, time, and day

  • Ability to meet department standards for productivity and quality

  • Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination; able to lift up to 30 pounds and walk or stand 100% of the time
