Summary

About the Position: The incumbent of this position will serve as a Training Technician (Office Automation) GS-1702-07 for Defense Health Agency Headquarters located at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Duties

  • Perform difficult and responsible work in support of the organization’s automated systems training program.
  • Prepare training agenda, handouts, charts and reports, as necessary.
  • Prepare class rosters, graduation certificates, transcripts, relief/recycle packages and additional student status actions.
  • Conduct formal and informal briefings for audiences, which include new staff and faculty, on topics related to customer services, training student management and organization procedures.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for Training Technician (Office Automation) GS-1702-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, assisting in the classroom scheduling for students; retrieving student and school data while producing a range of documents (i.e. calendars, catalogs, reports, spreadsheets, etc.); and assisting in developing training guidance to be distributed among students. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
