Full job description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Document Controller to support a high-volume records scanning initiative in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a Long-term Contract position suited for someone who is comfortable working in an active environment, stays organized under minimal supervision, and can maintain accuracy while meeting productivity expectations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with document preparation, scanning workflows, and data indexing, along with a strong sense of accountability and urgency.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare physical records for digitization by sorting, organizing, and reviewing materials before scanning.

  • Operate scanning equipment to convert paper documents into accurate electronic files while maintaining quality standards.

  • Classify and index scanned records so they can be retrieved efficiently within database systems.

  • Enter and update document information in tracking tools and databases with a high level of accuracy.

  • Monitor daily output and maintain consistent progress against productivity and turnaround expectations.

  • Work independently to manage assigned tasks with limited oversight while ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Handle frequent movement between seated and standing tasks throughout the workday in support of scanning operations. Requirements • Proven experience in document scanning and records preparation within a high-volume environment.

  • Strong ability to organize, compile, and manage large sets of physical and electronic documents.

  • Experience with database updates, document indexing, and accurate information entry.

  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and remain self-directed throughout the day.

  • Comfortable in a role that requires extended periods of standing and repeated movement.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain quality while working with urgency.
