Analyst, UX Designer
Job Purpose
About the Team At Panera we believe that good food can bring out the best in all of us. We love the role that food plays in people's lives, and we work hard to create interactions that elevate the experience of ordering, eating, and sharing it. We're looking for a User Experience Designer to join our team of designers, collaborators, bakers and craftspeople. We embrace vulnerability - we're unafraid to make mistakes, own up to them, and do it differently next time. Healthy debate? Bring it on - we love it as much as we do hunting down the research and analytics we need to crack that next brilliant UX solution. Most importantly, we support each other, and we like working together.
About You You do not have to love food, but you love the creative process, and you love collaborating. As a User Experience Designer, you'll be part of a team that's been recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative in the world. You'll contribute across the design process for our e-commerce properties: web, mobile apps, and digital experiences in retail spaces. You'll join research in the field (both online and in-person) to observe and test with customers, you'll help brainstorm new ideas, and you'll craft clear user flows and intuitive, thoughtful interactions. You'll work alongside senior designers and leads who will support your growth, and you're eager to learn and take on more ownership over time. You may call yourself a UX designer who can create visual designs or a visual designer who knows UX, but you are a digital craftsperson at heart.
Duties & Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Own the design of features and well-scoped projects, bringing human-centered design to the work with guidance from senior designers and leads
- Visualize and iterate design concepts at project-appropriate levels of fidelity, both independently and in partnership with other designers
- Estimate your own design work and partner with product owners to plan realistic timelines for your deliverables
- Help plan, conduct and synthesize user research, and use insights & data to inform design decisions
- Support and co-facilitate qualitative research methods, i.e., interviews, usability tests, card sorts, etc., building toward leading sessions independently
- Provide deliverables based on research, i.e. User Flows, Sitemaps, Wireframes, Prototypes, Lo-fi, and Hi-fi Mockups
- Contribute to our design system and support documentation and governance across our workflows
- Collaborate with stakeholders to acquire information about products, requirements, and to receive feedback on iterations throughout the entire process
- Clearly organize and present your designs and the reasoning behind them to your team and partners
- Break your work into clear tasks and proactively communicate progress, risks and blockers
- Follow and contribute to our UX process and the Rise design system, flagging gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Participate in healthy debate, sharing your perspective while valuing diversity of thought
- Actively seek mentorship and coaching to grow your craft
- Build relationships and trust with partners across product, engineering and other disciplines
- Give and solicit feedback from peers and mentors. Encourage honest feedback!
