Description

Senior / Principal Project Manager – Power Generation

Contract | Immediate Need | Multiple Openings

We are seeking a few Senior/Principal-level Project Managers to support a major New Generation capital portfolio for a large utility organization. This is an opportunity to take a leadership role in the development and execution of significant advanced thermal power generation projects, including large combined-cycle and simple-cycle gas turbine facilities.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned power generation project leader who has successfully delivered complex greenfield and brownfield generation projects from early development and engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and final turnover.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead large, complex power generation capital projects and programs through the full project lifecycle.

  • Manage combined-cycle and simple-cycle gas turbine projects, including greenfield and brownfield developments.

  • Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.

  • Manage EPC and Owner’s Engineer interfaces, contractors, consultants, and cross-functional utility stakeholders.

  • Provide oversight of major equipment and long-lead procurement.

  • Establish and maintain strong project controls, governance, integrated schedules, budgets, risk management, and change management processes.

  • Drive construction execution, permitting coordination, issue resolution, and contractor accountability.

  • Monitor project performance and provide clear reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.

  • Independently manage highly complex projects or portfolios that may reach multi-billion-dollar scale. What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience managing large capital projects within thermal power generation.

  • Direct project leadership experience with combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) and/or simple-cycle gas turbine (SCGT) facilities.

  • Proven experience delivering projects through the complete lifecycle, from development through commercial operation and turnover.

  • Strong background managing EPC contractors, Owner’s Engineers, OEMs, major equipment suppliers, and construction contractors.

  • Demonstrated expertise in project controls, scheduling, cost management, risk management, procurement, permitting, and construction execution.

  • Ability to step into an active portfolio quickly, establish structure, and drive accountability across multiple workstreams.

  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Experience leading major utility or independent power generation capital programs strongly preferred.

This is an immediate contract opportunity for experienced power generation leaders who are comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of high-value, high-visibility generation projects from day one.
