Full job description

About Radiant Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based company building the world's only mass-produced, transportable nuclear microreactors. The U.S. grid is under growing strain, with power demand accelerating, driving higher utility costs, rising carbon emissions, and interconnection backlogs. Radiant has a solution, transportable, on-site power. Our first reactor, Kaleidos, is 1 megawatt: small enough to be factory-built, transported by land, sea, or air, and deployed wherever power is needed. 1 MW can power 1000 homes for five years. Ship it back and we refuel for a 20 year operating life. We made energy a product that can be used for critical infrastructure like military bases, data centers, hospitals, and remote sites, as well as the commercial main street businesses that keep America running. Founded in 2020, Radiant is under contract to deliver power to the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force and has signed pre-order agreements with Equinix, with deployments beginning in 2028.

About the Role Radiant is seeking a Site Lead to own site readiness, transport, installation and startup coordination for our microreactor deliveries. You will make sure the site, the customer and the delivery team are aligned so that each unit arrives at a prepared site and starts up successfully. You will work closely with Engineering, Program Management, Regulatory, Production, and will report to the Director of Mission Success. The ideal candidate has hands-on field experience, is comfortable with logistics and heavy transport, and can work with customers on their own sites, including DoD installations.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Site Readiness: Develop and own the site readiness plan and report its status to required teams.

  • Requirements & Interfaces: Gather site requirements and design interfaces from Engineering and confirm they are met on site.

  • Customer Coordination: Coordinate site access and constraints with the customer.

  • Transport & Installation: Plan and coordinate transport, installation and setup of the reactor system at the customer site.

  • Regulatory Conditions: Make sure site activities meet programmatic conditions set by applicable regulations.

  • Production Alignment: Coordinate site timing with Production’s completion dates.

  • Schedule Input: Provide site milestones to the scheduling team and flag slips early.

  • Startup & Acceptance: Coordinate startup, commissioning and customer acceptance.

  • Safety & Permitting: Make sure site work meets safety and permitting requirements.

Deliverables:

  • Site readiness plan; ongoing regular status updates.

  • Site milestones in the integrated schedule.

  • Completed transport, installation and startup at each customer site.

  • Coordinated startup and acceptance with the customer.

  • Site-level risks documented and shared for the non-technical Risk Register.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of field, construction or operations management experience.

  • Experience with logistics and heavy transport.

  • Knowledge of site safety and permitting requirements.

  • Experience coordinating with customers on their sites.

  • Strong problem-solving skills in the field.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience managing a complex construction project from start to finish.

  • Experience working on DoD installations.

  • Experience in nuclear or other regulated industries.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 40% of total weeks in the year; most travel will be consolidated around reactor delivery and testing.
