Full job description

Overview

Industry: Aerospace/Defense

Position: Level 2 Radiography Technician – DR & CT (NAS 410)

Location: Greensville, SC

Duration: On-going contract - Minimum 1 years

Frequency: Full-time

Pay Range: $75/hr - $80/hr

The Opportunity

Our client, a major aerospace engine manufacturer, inspects high-pressure turbine (HPT) blades and other turbine airfoils for commercial aircraft engines using digital radiography (DR) and computed tomography (CT) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We're looking for NAS 410-certified Level 2 radiography technicians to join the onsite inspection team.

This is a role for a sharp, hands-on technician who takes pride in reading an image correctly, documenting it completely, and handing off cleanly to the next shift. You'll work with advanced DR and CT equipment on real turbine hardware, following approved procedures, with training and a technical point of contact provided on site.

What You Must Bring

  • A current Level 2 certification in Radiography (RT) meeting National Aerospace Standard (NAS) 410. Certification under other schemes, such as ASNT SNT-TC-1A, does not meet this requirement.

  • Documented radiography training and experience of at least 80 hours of formal classroom education and 800 hours of radiography experience.

  • S. citizenship and the ability to meet site-access requirements.

  • Ability to evaluate images and interpret indications against engineering drawings, process specifications, and work instructions.

  • Accurate, complete documentation habits — inspection results recorded correctly and images and records archived.

  • Clear communication of inspection status and results, including at shift handover, and a team-first attitude.

  • Willingness to pass written General and Specific examinations and a Practical examination for this assignment.

  • A high school diploma or GED.

What Sets a Great Candidate Apart

Preferred, not required — candidates without these remain eligible.

  • Experience performing Computed Tomography (CT) / volumetric CT inspection.

  • Current certification in digital radiography (DR), and experience with digital radiographic inspection of cast turbine airfoils.

  • Two or more years in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to apply geometric, trigonometric, and algebraic relationships.

  • Ability to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct inspections, and interpret, evaluate, and document findings without supervision.

  • Thorough knowledge of the scope and limitations of radiographic imaging techniques.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Perform DR and CT inspections of turbine airfoils, including HPT blades, per approved NDT procedures, engineering drawings, process specifications, and work instructions.

  • Evaluate images and interpret indications in accordance with those requirements.

  • Document inspection results accurately and completely, and archive images and inspection records.

  • Communicate inspection status and results clearly, including at shift handover.

  • Perform daily equipment set-up procedures and quality checks.

  • Perform radiation safety surveys and complete radiation safety training annually.

Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite at Greenville, SC — this is an in-person role.

  • S. citizenship.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Current NAS 410 Level 2 certification in Radiography (RT).

  • At least 80 hours of formal classroom radiography education and 800 hours of radiography experience.

  • Ability to meet site-access requirements and pass the assignment's written and practical examinations.
