Description The Regional Operations Manager provides operational support to a large Claims region -- which may include planning, budgeting, staffing, quality control, regulatory compliance, financial management and resources allocation - to ensure regional, SBU and corporate objectives are met. Oversees large claims and implements claim handling guidelines and standards that consistently produce the highest possible technical and service quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Regional Claims Manager with planning, budgeting, staffing, quality control, regulatory compliance, and financial management
  • Manages existing and new claims-related programs for the region ensures the staff complies with policies and procedures and participates in quality control initiatives and programs in region, including market conduct exams
  • Gathers organizes and analyzes claims data in order to identify issues, trends and opportunities presents findings, options, and recommendations to senior management
  • Develops and maintains relationships with state regulators by attending regulatory meetings, insurance department visits, and participation in industry group meetings
  • Participates in various committees and ensures regional management is kept up-to-date on activities
  • Handles special projects as assigned which may include in-depth research/analysis.

Preferred Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of the principles of casualty insurance, coverage interpretation, claims adjustment procedures and the law that governs contracts, torts, insurance and the rules of civil procedure
  • Demonstrated track record of effective verbal/written communications, organization, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to quickly absorb and implement change and normally acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively more responsible related work experience as well as proven Claims management experience; preference for Mobility Claims related experience
  • Advanced insurance related designations/CPCU and three to five years of supervisory or management experience preferred

Please Note: This is a Grade 16/17 range posting- dependent on experience leveling

Qualifications
