Regional Logistics Manager – Radar System Replacement (RSR)

Position Summary

The Regional Logistics Manager coordinates logistics support for RSR sites within an assigned region, helping ensure equipment, services, and materials are available when needed to support radar removal, installation, testing, and return to service. The manager works closely with FAA personnel, Peraton regional managers and site representatives, radar vendors, subcontractors, and local service providers to maintain site readiness and resolve logistics issues.

This position also coordinates with radar vendors to track equipment movement, confirm delivery schedules, and identify transportation or material delays that could affect site execution.

Position Location: Remote (Some travel to RSR sites may be required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate site logistics and readiness. Identify each site’s logistics requirements before work begins and maintain a checklist of required services, equipment, delivery dates, and responsible parties.

  • Help sites acquire equipment and services. Arrange dumpsters, portable toilets, forklifts, cranes, material-handling equipment, temporary storage, and other items needed for site preparation, removal, installation, and cleanup.

  • Coordinate purchasing and funding approvals. Obtain quotes, prepare purchase or rental requests, and work with authorized procurement and program personnel to secure approvals. Track commitments against approved site budgets.

  • Track vendor equipment movement. Work with vendors and transportation providers to monitor radar equipment, installation materials, replacement components, and spare parts from shipment through site receipt. Maintain visibility into shipment status, expected arrival dates, delivery changes, and receiving requirements.

  • Coordinate deliveries and receiving. Confirm site access, delivery windows, unloading arrangements, storage space, and availability of personnel and equipment to receive shipments. Verify delivery documentation and coordinate resolution of shortages, damage, or incorrect shipments.

  • Support equipment removal and disposition. Coordinate packaging, loading, transportation, temporary storage, and approved disposition of removed equipment and materials in accordance with FAA direction and contractual requirements.

  • Manage rental and service schedules. Coordinate delivery, servicing, extensions, pickup, and closeout of rented equipment and temporary site services to support the installation schedule and control costs.

  • Maintain logistics records and accountability. Track rental equipment, shipments, receipts, service orders, costs, and outstanding requirements. Clearly identify ownership and responsibility for government, vendor, and Peraton equipment.

  • Resolve and escalate logistics issues. Address missed deliveries, equipment shortages, transportation constraints, and service-provider problems. Elevate issues that threaten site readiness or schedule milestones and recommend recovery actions.

  • Report regional logistics status. Provide routine updates on site readiness, equipment movement, upcoming deliveries, costs, and unresolved issues. Coordinate logistics activities with the Integrated Master Schedule and daily site reporting.

  • Support safe site operations. Coordinate appropriate equipment capacity, qualified operators, and required access arrangements with responsible site personnel. Ensure logistics plans account for site conditions and applicable safety requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain required Public Trust clearance.

  • A minimum of 8 years of expeirence with a Bachelor's degree; 6 years with a Master's; a total of 12 years without a degree.

  • Experience coordinating logistics, transportation, procurement support, or field operations for geographically dispersed projects.

  • Experience arranging equipment rentals, temporary site services, freight deliveries, and material handling.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple sites and competing priorities while maintaining accurate schedules and records.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tools used to track shipments, costs, inventory, and schedules.

  • Ability to work effectively with government personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and local service providers.

  • Ability to travel within the assigned region and meet applicable FAA facility access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting radar, aviation, telecommunications, construction, or other technical infrastructure deployments.

  • Familiarity with FAA field operations, remote-site logistics, and government property accountability.

  • Experience supporting equipment removal, disposition, and installation activities.

  • Familiarity with integrated schedules, site-readiness reviews, and logistics risk management.

Measures of Success

  • Required site services and equipment are available before scheduled work begins.

  • Vendor shipments and equipment movements are accurately tracked and communicated.

  • Logistics issues are identified early and resolved before they affect critical milestones.

  • Site expenditures remain within approved funding, and rentals are closed promptly.

  • Delivery, receipt, and disposition records are complete and accurate.

Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
